Please forgive me if this seems silly or is already being done (I'm sure there's lots being done of which I am unaware) but...
Similar to Wairarapa where we will be progressing through the different towns with the petition in small groups just asking the question...are there active members in Wellington who would volunteer to be in different places in Wellington with clipboards and petitions to ask the general public to sign?
In other words, maybe we can sort out some kind of plan whereby in teams of two or three we can target maybe Wellington rail station for a couple of hours one day/evening, manners mall for a couple of hours, and then thinking about places in suburbs (Newtown, Karori etc) in a progressive manner?
Personally, I will be in wellington on 21 and 22 feb, as well as 25 and 26 feb and would be only too happy to team up with a couple of others in the late afternoon (say around 5:30) in central wellington with clipboards and petitions and just do a street corner for an hour or two.
Anyone else keen?
Dylan.

Permalink Reply by Leanne Stubbing on February 8, 2011 at 22:29 Hi Dylan. I have taken the petition to the Women's cricket final and have organised it to be at "Out in the Square" festival at Civic square on the 12th March.
We have lots of meetings/prof development stuff on this month so I dont have a lot of afternoons free but how about getting NZEI to contact some of the inner city ECE centres to help support this?
Leanne
Hi Leanne
I should get a chance to talk to Nicki Wilford tomorrow about this and I can get her to do as you suggest.
Really cool taking the petition out to things like the cricket. If you want others to come along just drop a note into the network here and others can maybe help out.
