Auckland members of NZEI were out in force over the weekend gathering 2424 signatures for our ECE petition at Otara Market, North Shore Flea Market, Manurewa Market, and Grey Lynn Market. A huge effort, with more planned for next weekend. All report a really positive response from the public.…

The tragic events in Christchurch have necessitated an unfortunate, but understandable, delay in the ECE funding cuts campaign timeline. At short notice the march scheduled for Sat 26 Feb was postponed. At present a new date for the march has not been confirmed. Thank you to all involved in the frantic efforts of the organisers in undoing months of work in just a few hours.

The Big Push march against early childhood education funding cuts scheduled for Saturday 26 February in Auckland has been postponed.
Following the tragic earthquake in Christchurch, NZEI’s organising committee and senior officials have decided that it’s not appropriate to go ahead with the march this weekend.
