Tomorrow we are putting our hands together to mark the ongoing effects of budget cuts to early childhood education and draw attention to new cuts that come into effect on support grants for new teachers .

 

The day also marks the end of our community petition calling for more investment in ECE, which to date has over   56 000 signitures. The petition will be presented on the 9th of June at the big push event in Auckland so after tomorrow please get any remaining sheets into us…

The education sector union NZEI Te Riu Roa is warning parents may face more fee increases with many early childhood services effectively taking another hit from this year’s Budget.

A cautious welcome for the pay parity funding in the budget from NZ Kindergartens who are quick to point out that the effects of last years cuts will still be widespread in Kindergartens and this budget has done little to address this.
