ECE Cut's Don't Heal- Rachel Kaspers Song

Wow! Awesome song written and recorded by Rachel Kaspers, EC Teacher at the Otago Polytechnic Childcare Centre! Rachel was inspired to write this after she'd marched at our local protest rally last year. The Otago EC Network are going to have a special event to launch the petition and the song on Feb 1st 2011. Peaceful march from Dental School to the Octagon. Match starts at 1pm, in Octagon at approx 1.30pm. Meet outside dental school at 12.30ish.To protest the funding cuts to quality education to all children under the age of five. Parents will be feeling the cuts that were introduced on the 1st of November.Protect the future of New Zealand, our children's education.Guest speakers in the Octagon.Parents, children, students, teachers and concerned public welcome.See More

tena koe e hoa! I am humbled by what this represents - I cannot forget all of those who paved the way for my journey, especially Cynthia at this time as she led CECUA through the amalgamation period, but so many others - in different ways, at different times. I'm still pinching myself! and on the inside i can't stop smiling!

I think an ECE student network is a great idea. Would be good to bring these people on board befofre they get into teaching. Im also thinking it's a good time to help them learn the history and background of the ECE sector and NZEI's role. You're doing a great job there!
