Hi Nicki, my name is Ali I am the NZEI worksite representative for Tai Tamariki kindergarten in Te Papa.  Myself and one other colleague have been busy trying to gain more signatures at local fairs and festivals over the past few weeks.  I had a thought that some form of  give away would be cool to highlight the campaign more.  Be it either in the form of ballons or stickers.  Dylan had said that there was some sort of funding for these things through our branches is that correct?

 

Also we are trying to arrange a music festival event for the beginning of April.  We have got a few bands confirmed already and have made major connections with the Labour party and the Greens.  Some of whom are circulating the petitions around parliament!

 

We are still stuck with trying to find a suitable outdoor venue, and were wondering if there would be any funding available to help out with this sort of event?

 

I would really appreciate any advice you could give me on any of these areas.

We did manage to have Marion with us for awhile and had some kindergarten staff attend a meeting in school staffroom,plus some come over when bus was in the area to sign petitions and bring signed petitions along. It's hard work but really loved the time on the bus
