Sector response to the budget

A cautious welcome for the pay parity funding in the budget from NZ Kindergartens who are quick to point out that the effects of last years cuts will still be widespread in Kindergartens and this budget has done little to address this.

Te Tari Puna Ora/ NZ Childcare Association points out the inequities established by a higher funding rate for Kindergartens and impacts of this for education and care centres.

Quite a different response from the Early Childhood Council who welcome the budget. I would have thought that their members would have had a similar response to NZCA at the introduction of the two tiered funding system.
