Soaring cost of early childhood education

Early childhood education costs have leapt 11.7 per cent in a year but the Government says it is not to blame.
Inflation figures issued yesterday show overall education costs for the three months to March up 6.6 per cent on the same period last year.
But the 11.7 per cent rise in ECE costs stands out as it was well up on previous quarterly increases of 1.7 per cent, 3.2 per cent and 7.3 per cent.
